MADI is governed by a team of African mining, mineral sector and women entrepreneurship leaders representing all five African regions: East Africa, Southern Africa, Central Africa, West Africa and North Africa, representing Anglophone, Francophone and Arabic-speaking countries. Through their strategic guidance and oversight, MADI Directors collectively play a vital role in advancing the work of MADI on the continent.
In addition to regular Board Members, MADI is privileged to have International Board Advisors from Canada, UK and Australia, composed of highly skilled and experienced mining and mineral sector experts from mining organizations and academia. MADI International Advisors subscribe to MADI mandate, goals and objectives and are providing a valuable contribution for the Institution’s strategic guidance, planning and networking.

Mr. Mugyenyi is the founder and Board Chairman of MADI. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of AB Minerals and Eschaton Solutions (both Canadian entities) and a member of Uganda’s Presidential Investors Round Table (PIRT) on the thematic area. of Minerals Value Addition. Mr. Mugyenyi is currently Coordinator of African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Institutional Support Project funded by AfDB and Senior Industry Advisor to Commissioner for Trade and Industry, African Union Commission (AUC). Mr. Mugyenyi is a citizen of Uganda.
Dr. Joshua Mutambi is a Commissioner and Head of Department of Processing and Marketing; Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives, Uganda. He holds a PhD in Techno-sciencestudies (Innovation Systems and Development) of Blekinge Institute of Technology (Sweden- 2013) and a PhD in Engineering of Makerere University Kampala, Uganda (2014). A Policy Development and innovations Specialist, an Industry Competitiveness Advisory and Enterprise Development Consultant that have facilitated development of industries and cluster enterprises; initiated and led various technical programs, studies and has contributed to the formulation of Policies, Strategies and Bills. Dr Mutambi is a citizen of Uganda.

Ms. Uwera is a seasoned regional private sector development expert, bringing 18 years’ experience working in the corporate sector and business member organizations. She has worked at national and regional level within sub- Saharan Africa.. She is a Rwandan citizen, living as a working resident in Lusaka, Zambia as a CEO of COMESA Business Council

Dr Amani Asfour, a citizen of Egypt is the International President of International Federation of Business and Professional Women; President of African Alliance for Women Empowerment, Secretary General of African Society for Scientific Research and Technology;
Chair of Trade Promotion Committee of COMESA Business Council; Vice President of PAFTRAC – Pan African Private Sector Committee for Trade and Development.
Board Member - representing Africa's Western Region
Doctor Ilboudo Ousmane is Associate professor at University of Ouagadougou. Alongside of this occupation he is the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Mines and Quarries of Burkina Faso. Before he led successively the position of technical advisor of the minister of mines and quarries and then the Permanent Secretary of the National Minerals Commission of Burkina Faso. Dr Ilboudo is also currently the chairman of board the Gold Agency of Burkina Faso.
Board Member - representing Africa's Central Region
Samuel Agbor-Tabi is passionate about African development. For the last eight years he has been an advocate in the mining sector knowing that, if done right, this sector can greately help African countries reach their development goals. Based on his advocacy work, in 2013 he was asked to be founding member of of the Cameroon Mining Federation and was voted Vice President, a position he still holds. As of 2018, Samuel is the President of the Central African Mining Association, allowing him to to continue his advocacy work at a regional level. Prior to Cameroon Mining Federation vice-chairmanship, he facilitated the investments in the Cameroon mining sector as well as consulted for the purchase of minerals in the sub-region. Mr. Agbor-Tabi is a citizen of Cameroon.

A holder of M.Sc. Exploration Geology, B.Sc. Geology and Geography from the University of Zimbabwe, Post Graduate Diploma in Mineral Exploration and Resource Evaluation from ITC Netherlands, Master of Business Administration Finance. Gilbert has over 20 years of Mining and Exploration experience gained through working for an number of local and international companies. Gilbert has experience in identifying mineral projects in South Africa, Zambia, Angola, Namibia and Zimbabwe. Successfully oversaw Giyani Gold Corporation entry in South Africa. Currently assisting Rainy Mountain Royalty entry into Zambia and Angola.
